Every Child Known, Valued and Supported
At Our Lady Star of the Sea, we believe every child is created in the image and likeness of God and deserves the opportunity to learn, belong and thrive.
We are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can access the curriculum, participate fully in school life and achieve their personal best.
Our Learning Diversity approach ensures students receive the right support at the right time—whether they need short-term assistance, ongoing adjustments, enrichment opportunities or specialised intervention.

How We Identify Students Who May Need Support
Additional support may be considered when:
- Teachers identify learning, behaviour or wellbeing concerns.
- Assessment data indicates additional support is required.
- Parents or carers raise concerns.
- Information is provided by external specialists.
- A student would benefit from enrichment opportunities.
We use assessment data, classroom observations and ongoing monitoring to ensure support is responsive and tailored to each student’s needs.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)
As part of our commitment to inclusive education, OLSS participates in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
This process helps schools identify, document and review the adjustments provided to students with disability so they can access learning on the same basis as their peers.
Families are consulted throughout the process and remain valued partners in planning and reviewing support.
