You may have noticed something different on many o You may have noticed something different on many of our school websites — a bold purple button! This small change marks the beginning of something big.
We’re proud to launch our first-ever Eileen O’Connor May Campaign — a week-long initiative to raise awareness and support for the development of Eileen O’Connor
Catholic School.

We are building Eileen O’Connor Catholic School, a purpose-built K-12 campus in Tuggerah, designed to provide specialist, faith-based education for students with moderate cognitive disability, autism and/or complex learning needs. This is more than a construction project.

It’s a shared mission to create a school where every child is seen, known, and supported to thrive and be fully embraced and understood. Accepted for who they are and the great gifts they offer our community.

We have already begun the journey with support classes across the Diocese, located across the Northern Beaches, North Shore and Central Coast, but the need continues to grow. This school is our answer.

Throughout this week, we’ll share stories, voices, and ways you can partner with us — whether by spreading awareness, contributing to the build, or simply standing in support of the families who deserve a school that truly fits their child’s needs.

You may have seen one of our incredible students Leo who has been in our support class, you can read more about his family’s journey from Eileen O’Connor Catholic School to a CSBB mainstream parish school.

We start by introducing you to Leo’s Story bit.ly/43htJtQ
Leo was one of the first students in our support c Leo was one of the first students in our support class program, created as a transition class to our mainstream parish schools. For two years, he thrived in that environment: tailored support, expert staff, and a strong connection to his faith. Today, Leo has transitioned into his local Catholic parish school — confident, capable, and ready for the next stage.

His story shows what's possible. But we need to do more.
Every day, we meet families with the shared hope that their child with a disability will be seen, supported, and given every opportunity to thrive. Families who want their children to learn in a place where they are accepted, respected, and truly belong.

We’re so proud of our students. They’ve been wonderfully respectful, showing excellent manners, curiosity, and enthusiasm every step of the way. #schoolcamp
Last Friday, our OLSS community came together to h Last Friday, our OLSS community came together to honour the heart of our homes – our incredible mums and mother figures.

Our Mother’s Day Morning was a beautiful celebration filled with love, laughter, sweet treats, and special moments captured in time. The gorgeous voices of our choir lifted our spirits, and a heartfelt blessing reminded us of the deep gratitude we hold for the women who guide and nurture us.

A huge thank you to our amazing PEC, Heidi, and our dedicated staff for their time, creativity, and care in bringing this meaningful morning to life.

To all the wonderful mums and mother figures in our OLSS community – we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you again for all that you are.
📍 Canberra Update! After an early morning star 📍 Canberra Update!

After an early morning start and a smooth drive, our Year 6 students have arrived safely in Canberra! First stop on their adventure: the Electoral Education Centre, where they’ll dive into the world of democracy and civic leadership.

We’re so proud of our young leaders and can’t wait to share more from their trip!
Every Mum is a Superhero 💐 This week, we invit Every Mum is a Superhero 💐

This week, we invited some students to reflect on the incredible mother figures in their lives—and their heartfelt (and often hilarious!) responses are sure to make you smile, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear.

💬 Kindy shared what their mum loves to do most,
🦸‍♀️ Year 4 imagined their mum’s superpowers, and
💖 Year 6 told us the one thing they want their mum to know.

Take a moment to watch this beautiful tribute through the eyes of our students. It's a touching reminder of just how loved and appreciated our OLSS mums truly are.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums and mother figures in our community — you really are superheroes! 💗
🌸 A big THANK YOU to our incredible parent help 🌸 A big THANK YOU to our incredible parent helpers! 🌸

An extra special thank you to Katrina Eland and Kim Robinson!

We are so grateful to you both, and to the amazing team of volunteers who ran our Mother’s Day Stall this morning. Your time, effort, and cheerful energy made it all possible — we truly couldn’t do it without you!

Thank you for helping make Mother’s Day special for our students and their families. 💖
