📍 Canberra Update! After an early morning star 📍 Canberra Update!

After an early morning start and a smooth drive, our Year 6 students have arrived safely in Canberra! First stop on their adventure: the Electoral Education Centre, where they’ll dive into the world of democracy and civic leadership.

We’re so proud of our young leaders and can’t wait to share more from their trip!
Every Mum is a Superhero 💐 This week, we invit Every Mum is a Superhero 💐

This week, we invited some students to reflect on the incredible mother figures in their lives—and their heartfelt (and often hilarious!) responses are sure to make you smile, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear.

💬 Kindy shared what their mum loves to do most,
🦸‍♀️ Year 4 imagined their mum’s superpowers, and
💖 Year 6 told us the one thing they want their mum to know.

Take a moment to watch this beautiful tribute through the eyes of our students. It's a touching reminder of just how loved and appreciated our OLSS mums truly are.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums and mother figures in our community — you really are superheroes! 💗
🌸 A big THANK YOU to our incredible parent help 🌸 A big THANK YOU to our incredible parent helpers! 🌸

An extra special thank you to Katrina Eland and Kim Robinson!

We are so grateful to you both, and to the amazing team of volunteers who ran our Mother’s Day Stall this morning. Your time, effort, and cheerful energy made it all possible — we truly couldn’t do it without you!

Thank you for helping make Mother’s Day special for our students and their families. 💖
Today our school gathered for a beautiful ANZAC Da Today our school gathered for a beautiful ANZAC Day liturgy.
We were honoured to welcome Mr Hall from the Wamberal–Terrigal RSL Sub-Branch, who joined us to reflect on the true meaning of ANZAC Day and what it means to be a veteran.

His thoughtful words reminded us of the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have served our country.

We sincerely thank Mr Hall for sharing his time and insights with us.

Lest we forget. 🌺
ANZAC Day Terrigal Dawn Service 2025 This morning ANZAC Day Terrigal Dawn Service 2025

This morning, students and staff joined the community to honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of the ANZACs.

May we always remember the brave men and women who served, and those who continue to serve our country.
Lest we forget.
Year 3 Gets Hands-On with Science! 🚀 In Week 9 Year 3 Gets Hands-On with Science! 🚀

In Week 9 of last term, our curious Year 3 students were blown away by an action-packed visit from The Ranger Science Show!

From launching chemical rockets and crafting paper planes to getting messy with ublex (that crazy non-Newtonian slime!), our budding scientists were fully immersed in the wonders of forces.

There were experiments, big questions, and even bigger smiles as students tested theories and made exciting discoveries. A huge shoutout to The Ranger Science Show for sparking such joy and curiosity in our young learners!

Science has never been so much fun!
Drawing Club Highlights Last term in Drawing Clu Drawing Club Highlights

Last term in Drawing Club, our creative students embraced the opportunity to take greater ownership of their artwork. They had the choice to either follow guided tutorials or let their imagination lead the way with free drawing — encouraging both skill-building and individual expression.

As a group, they focused on developing shading techniques to add depth and dimension to our drawings. It was wonderful to see students experimenting, growing in confidence, and supporting one another as young artists.

Looking ahead to Term 2, we’re excited to welcome Kindergarten students to Drawing Club for the very first time! Even more exciting — we’ll be launching our first-ever whole-school Drawing Competition. Stay tuned for more details!

Wishing our OLSS community a blessed and holy Easter!

May this Easter fill your hearts and homes with peace, love, and renewed faith.

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28:6
