K-12 Pathways

K to 12 Pathways and Beyond

At Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School Terrigal, families are supported through every stage of their child’s learning journey, from early learning and Kindergarten transition through to primary school and future pathways into Catholic secondary education.

As part of Catholic Schools Broken Bay, OLSS is connected to a wider network of Catholic schools offering educational opportunities from Kindergarten to Year 12 and beyond.

Early Learning and Kindergarten Transition

OLSS has an onsite Early Learning Centre, supporting a strong and familiar pathway for families beginning their child’s Catholic education journey.

Children preparing for Kindergarten are welcomed through dedicated Kindergarten transition sessions. These sessions give children the opportunity to become familiar with the school environment, meet teachers, explore classrooms and begin building confidence before their first day of school.

These transition experiences help children feel known, supported and ready to begin school with a strong sense of belonging.

Primary School to High School Pathways

Every student enrolled in a Catholic Schools Broken Bay primary school is supported to continue their Year 7 to Year 12 Catholic education within the CSBB system.

Our primary schools work closely with local Catholic secondary schools to support a smooth and positive transition into high school. This helps provide continuity in each student’s learning journey and supports students academically, socially and emotionally as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

Where a family’s preferred Catholic secondary school does not have availability, support will be provided to assist with enrolment at another CSBB school that best suits their child’s needs.

Pathways and Partnerships

Catholic Schools Broken Bay’s Pathways and Partnerships program connects students with future learning opportunities, career pathways and the world of work.

Through real world learning experiences, students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop practical skills and begin understanding the many pathways available to them beyond primary school.

This approach helps students build confidence, curiosity and the skills they need to thrive throughout school and into the future.
