Mini Vinnies and ‘Pyjamas for the Farmers’

Our whole school community got behind Mini Vinnies and ‘Pyjamas for the Farmers’.  Mini Vinnies held their annual ‘sleepout’ to get a feel for how our homeless spend each night.  We welcomed members from OLR Wyoming, St Patrick’s East Gosford, St John the Baptist Woy Woy and Holy Cross Kincumber who arrived at 5pm with their sleeping bags and pillows  The children are to be congratulated for the way they engaged so positively and enthusiastically in all of the activities.

At the same time Mini Vinnies wanted to help our Farmers as they struggle through a horrific drought so we invited our children to wear their pyjamas on the day and bring a donation to school. It was an overwhelming success with the school community raising in excess of $3000.  A special mention goes to Keeley P from Year 3P for raising over $500 through a cake stall and donations after a weekend mass.  All money raised will go directly to support farmers in need.

Thank you to our Mini Vinnies team and our school community!
