ANZAC Day 2017 Lest We Forget

Our Lady Star of the Sea commemorating ANZAC Day 2017

Our Captains, Vice Captains and a large group of students and families from OLSOS attended the Terrigal Dawn Service.  For those who could attend, the ceremony was a very special reminder of our ANZAC heritage, and it was very important our school be represented at such an important community event. We were delighted to discover our Bishop of Broken Bay, Bishop Peter Comensoli chose to come to the Terrigal Dawn Service, and even though he was in the official party, he took time to chat to our children who came along.

On the first day of Term 2 we had a beautiful ceremony to commemorate ANZAC Day where we welcomed David Ferry, Secretary and Len Ellis, Welfare Officer from the Terrigal-Wamberal RSL Sub-branch at our own ANZAC ceremony. The children were most reverent and we were very proud of the way each seemed to understand the importance of those who have fought for our peaceful country in Australia. Lest We Forget!
